Alberta-based Soul/Jazz vocalist Victoria Genest brings warmth, elegance, and storytelling to every performance. Drawing on the intimacy of Norah Jones, the smooth sophistication of Sade, and the soulful artistry of Corinne Bailey Rae, her rich tone and expressive interpretations create memorable musical experiences.

What draws Victoria to this music is the honesty behind the songs. Soul and jazz leave room for interpretation, the same song can feel completely different depending on the moment, the musicians, and the room. She loves taking songs people already know and uncovering the emotion within them, creating performances where listeners can feel a sense of connection, nostalgia, joy, or simply a meaningful moment in time.

Victoria began her artistic journey in Buenos Aires, where she studied classical voice at the Conservatorio López Buchardo before joining The Buenos Aires Players, performing in musical theatre productions that toured southern Argentina. That classical foundation continues to shape the jazz standards and arrangements that have become central to her artistry. After relocating to Alberta in 2012, she has performed throughout Calgary and Edmonton, with her music also featured on CBC Radio Calgary.

In 2022, Victoria returned to Buenos Aires to record her debut singles, It Might As Well Be Spring and Sway, at Estudio Dr. F, accompanied by Juan Bayón on double bass and Ornella Contreras on piano. These recordings capture the emotional depth, elegance, and connection that define her performances.
