Vocal Coaching
Your voice is a unique instrument with its own potential and possibilities. My vocal coaching offers a practical and supportive space to explore your voice, develop healthy technique, and gain clarity about how it works.
Lessons are a space to reconnect with your voice, build confidence, and sing with greater ease and freedom at your own pace, in a supportive and encouraging environment rooted in self-care and self-respect.
I offer one-on-one vocal coaching from my Parkdale studio in NW Calgary and online around the world. Sessions are available in 30, 45, or 60 minutes.

Victoria's Approach
I completed my vocal coach training at BAST Training and received my certification on March 28th, 2019, under BAST Licensed Trainer Kaya Herstad Carney. I have over 10+ years of experience coaching vocalists both online and in person.
My approach focuses on functional vocal technique and creating a supportive environment where students can develop confidence and skill. I love seeing my students develop into confident, expressive singers who trust their voice and enjoy the process of making music.
Why Work with a Vocal Coach?
A Supportive and Focused Space
Lessons provide a calm, respectful environment where you can explore your voice without pressure or judgment, helping you build trust in your voice and your process.
Understand How Your Voice Works
The voice is a physical instrument involving breath, posture, movement, and sound. You'll learn to coordinate these elements for efficient vocal function and long-term vocal health.
Develop Vocal Capacity and Control
Through specific exercises, you'll develop stability, expand your range, improve flexibility, and gain greater control over dynamics and tone, building clear habits rather than forcing your voice.
Expression and Presence
Lessons integrate technique with musical expression, helping you connect more naturally with the music you sing and feel more grounded and present when you perform.
Did You Know? Singing Is Good for Your Health!
Whether you're a seasoned singer or just beginning to explore your voice, singing offers real benefits for your well-being. When you sing, your body's natural calming system is activated, helping you feel more relaxed and grounded.
This means that singing in the shower, singing with friends, or singing along at a concert isn't just fun — it's genuinely good for your mental and physical health. Singing can help you feel more relaxed, centered, and connected to yourself.
Tips for Taking Care of Your Voice
Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Your vocal cords need moisture to function well.
Never jump into singing at full volume. Start with light humming or gentle exercises.
If something hurts or feels forced, stop. Pain is a signal that something isn't working properly.
If you've been singing a lot or feel tired, give your voice time to recover.
Dry air, smoke, and shouting in loud places can strain your voice.
How you hold your body affects how your voice functions.
Notice tension in your jaw, neck, or shoulders and work to release it.
Nasal breathing helps filter and humidify the air before it reaches your vocal cords, protecting them from irritation.
Taking care of your voice is an ongoing practice. In lessons, we'll explore these habits together and find what works best for you.
